I’m very glad to have contributed to this new study on the ionic conduction in functionalized MoS2 membranes, which was spearheaded by the groups of Chong Liu and George Schatz. Using FTIR we could correlate the strength of the interaction between the carboxylate functional groups and the ions, and the binding motif, to the diffusion properties. This served as a minor component of the overall story but, I think, and impactful one. Please check it out to see some unintuitive and exciting ionic transport phenomena!
