Our new paper on the IR spectroscopy of hydrated zeolites is out in JPCB! We revisit an enigmatic doublet in the IR spectrum of HZSM5 at low hydration state and argue that the accepted assignment as a Fermi resonance is difficult to reconcile with the spectral patterns we observe in 2D IR. We propose an alternative model of an asymmetric double well which does a better job of ordering the higher lying vibrational states.
